                           Restless Leg

 

When the bell rang and everyone started to scramble off he would be stuck there with the pain

traveling through his leg.

The sensations he had experienced at home when he hit his leg with a leather sole, with

rubber, metal, or wood told him that the pain he felt in his leg every time school started and

let out came from wood; so, among the crowd of feet he began looking for the kid with the

wooden shoes who would kick his leg and run off…

                                                     

One of the moving shoes always looked like wood and then would disappear. Trying to

recognize the owners of the feet from their faces did not amount to anything. Their faces all

seemed alike. He started bringing with him the worms he found in wooded areas where he

went on weekends and left these at school hoping they were woodworms and would eat the 

wooden shoe; this endeavor and the long wait that followed did not amount to anything either.

 

Even the fact that they recited the oath all together everyday did not make the “wooden-shoed

kid” disappear.

 

Obviously those intermediate times when he felt as if he were suspended in the air were all

because of the “wooden-shoed kid;” the unexplainable unease of his trapped existence was all his fault.

                       

                    Huzursuz Bacak

 

Zil çalınca başlayan koşturmaca sırasında, bacağında dolaşan acı ile kalırdı olduğu yerde.

 

Evde bacağına, kösele, lastik, metal, tahta ile vurarak deneyimlediği  hisler, okul giriş ve çıkışlarında bacağında hissettiği acının tahta etkisi olduğunu söylediğinde bacağına tekme atıp kaçan tahta ayakkabılıyı kalabalık ayakların arasında aramaya başladı…

 

Hareket eden ayakkabılardan biri,  hep tahta gibi görünüp sonra ortalıktan kayboluyordu.Ayakların sahiplerini yüzlerinden tahmin etmeye çalışması da bir sonuç vermedi.Yüzleri hep aynı gibi idi. Hafta sonları ağaçlık yerlerde bulduğu kurtları, ağaç kurdu olması ve tahta ayakkabıyı yemesi umudu ile okula götürüp bırakmaya başlaması ve bunun ardısıra gelen uzun bekleyişler de hiç bir sonuç vermedi.

 

Hergün hep birlikte andımızı okuyor olmaları bile “tahta ayakkabılı”nın varlığına engel değildi.  

 

Havada asılı kaldığı ara zamanların sebebi hep “tahta ayakkabılı”ydı besbelli, hep onun yüzündendi sıkışıp kalan varlığının anlatamadığı sıkıntısı.
